Studio J: A Long Good-Bye

Seems not so long ago I was welcoming my Florida g-kids back to Minnesota for the summer. Oh how the time did fly. We really packed in a ton of fun with large doses of family time, and plenty of laughs!

Still, it wasn't easy to face the fact that they were returning to Florida and the start of a new school year in early August. But we put on our happy faces and set out for one more summer hurrah!

Journaling reads:

Its hard to believe that Alaina and Alex have to head back to Florida already. Seems like they just arrived and we have so many things yet to do.
We celebrated our memorable summer with a trip to Taylors Falls for burgers and malts at the drive-in along with a game of mini golf.
We decided to check out the Sculpture Park in Franconia on the way back. We didn't know quite what to expect, and to our surprise, we had alot of fun wandering through the park.
Come the end of the night we spent some time on the dock so the kids could fish and I could begin the long goodbye. Alaina said it best: "Don't think of it as three months. Think of it as three weeks because it will go by that fast." When did that little girl get to be so wise? Still, December seems a long ways away for this Nana.
Saying goodbye isn't easy. Knowing we'll be making memories again soon makes the wait a little easier. You can bet I'll have my camera and Studio J at the ready!
Until next time ..... thanks for stopping!
