Cardboard to Clipboard

I'll bet you've been to some kind of gathering where you're asked to fill out a form, take notes, or write down answers to game questions. First, you dig in your pocket or purse for a pen. Then you look for something firmer than your lap to place your paper and write legible. Right?

I thought about this last week when I was making final preparations for my daughter's baby shower. I typically have a couple of these handy for open house prize drawings and household to-do lists:

Yep! Thirty of these bad boys just weren't in the budget!

So what do we crafters do when it comes to pinching pennies? ... that's right! We get right down creative and use what we have on hand! Like cardboard packaging, discontinued paper, ribbon, and a few office supplies.

I save heavy stock cardboard sheets from paper packages.
Great for mini album covers and chipboard Cricut cuts!

Dig into that discontinued paper stash, cut, stamp a cute image, attach sheet to cardboard .....

 ...... tie a bow on a paperclip, slide on a pen, and here you have ....

 .... a really cute and very inexpensive solution to a problem!

This could work for just about any kind of gathering: Birthday Party, Workshop, Bridal Shower, Kids Party, Wine Tasting .... just dig in that paper stash, grab some stamps and ink and knock yourself out!

{ The baby shower guests gave these a big thumbs up! }

Hope you found this useful! Thanks for stopping by the Tator Patch!
