Take Twelve: April Retreat

Here's my Take Twelve layout for April! Too late for this month's giveaway at Ella Publishing but that's okay .... I am loving this project!

On this day I packed up and left for a retreat weekend at Milton House in Mantorville MN. But before I pulled out of the driveway UPS delivered a delicious box of cookies I won from Dancing Deer Bakery. Perfect for sharing with girlfriends! Then, {and this is so exciting} my new Canon Rebel T3i arrived days ahead of schedule!

The one hour and forty-five minute drive was a pleasure as I enjoyed passing through the rolling farmland of southern Minnesota. I was the first to arrive at Milton House followed a few hours later by Liz and Julie who could not have possibly fit another bag into Julie's new Explorer! Good times are a guarantee on retreat weekends.

Milton House was a local cheese factory at one time. In 1994 it was purchased and converted into a home. After making Milton House their home for 10 years, the owners transitioned the home to the unique and spacious retreat center it is today.

Our group was unusually small at this retreat with only seven of us. We all liked having the extra space to spread out and dig into our projects. I finished a batch of note pads, created a blog hop layout, made 4th of July invitations, played in Studio J, pre-cut a stash of AP shapes, power-sorted the rest of my daughter's {very large} baby album, blogged, pinned, read, and enjoyed the company of good friends.

Good times are a guarantee on retreat weekends.

I look forward to our next retreat weekend in August when we'll be in St Croix Falls, Wisconsin!
